Licensed in 1969 as a Novice, WN0YWI. My first station was an Ameco AC-1 tube 15 watt transmitter kit with a Hallicrafters SX-140 receiver + 40 meter dipole. General and Advanced Class licenses as WA0YWI and then Extra Class (20 WPM) in April, 1974. Call sign changed to K0KW in 1976. Special recognition to my elmer W0CYY, Francis "Bud" Weatherford (SK), for sparking an interest in ham radio during my early teens.
