ClubLog is at the bottom of this page and updated realtime as I log our contact with Log4OM , if we made contact during a contest there will be a delay as I use N1MM+ logger for contest and upload after contest is over or I QRT. Thanks.

During contest I'll go by "Joe" short for my first name for simplicity, but socially I go by "Brett" my middle name.

I first got my ticket back in 2003, what got me interested in Ham radio was hearing of how radio was used in storm spotting and listening to local Skywarn nets on a scanner.  I had always had a passion for all sorts of weather.
While studying for my Tech in 2003 I began to realized how much more could be done with radio.  I'm now a General class as of 2013 (yes I kept a Tech for 10 yrs, I know).  Extra 2015.

I continue to enjoy learning about radio and all that can be done with it.  I enjoy homebrewing.  Homebrew antennas are fun and I would love to build a transceiever and a HF amp one day.

Radios:
Kenwood 2 meter (APRS Digirepeater) & Icom dstar to a 40' tower with Hygain VB214FM yagi and Ringo Ranger vertical. TH-9800 programmed for 6 meter FM out to a Ringo AR-6.

HF: Kenwood TS-440s/at out to a GAP Titan DX vertical.

Mobile: I use a FM quad band (10/6/2/70) with a Diamond HV7 antenna.

Work truck: I have dual band I use to montor HAM, other public safety agenices, FRS, Marine, etc.

Work:
I work as a Investigator here in Union Co., MS . There has been many up and downs, but I love my brother and sisters I work with in law enforcement.
We are a small department that consist of 10 full time patrol deputies.

You may QSL by LoTW, eQSL, or direct to my listed address.  I will return a card for cards recieved.

I really enjoy HF DIGITAL modes, mostly JT65 but will venture out to others at times.

North Mississippi Storm Chasers and Spotters is a group I founded for area severe weather spotters and chasers that has grown greatly to a very orginaized group.  Recently became a radio club with call sign KG5DBW .

I recently stopped by a home in town to say hello to a fellow ham.  An Elder , WB5TTM(SK), really blessed me with serveral new items for my radio hobby before he passed.  I can't thank him enough.  For a small trade I have added a Titan DX vertical 80-10m . Also some other very useful items that will help me continue to adventure in the world of radio.

(5/5/2015) View of my operating antennas.
6 meter antenna no longer there, have put up a commercial 6m on it's on pole.

Bicycle MOBILE

Here I have a dual band fm handheld, connected to a dual band magnet antenna, that I use to talk back to my truck which is crossband repeating.
I usually set the crossband in the truck so I can work 10 fm or 6 fm while riding the TangleFoot Bike Trail.  Add's fun to it.
I made the bracket with my minium welding skills :) .

This is a photo of my former car in front of our Courthouse             Photo I made of car I had last while I still worked patrol.
I made for a dept. calender                                                            2016 Ford interceptor, had Quad band 6/10/2/440 , 11m cb on board.
