Hello and thanks for visting my page. I'm a native New orleanian and now live in Picayune, Ms, which is about 50 miles NNE of New Orleans, La. I've always been fascinated with radios in one form or another since I was a kid. My dad was a television and radio repairman (tube type). He use to let me collect the yokes (copper) and magnets off of the old tv sets, and he give me plenty of AM/FM/SW radios to play with. I was also his little tube tester, lots of fun!!! Man how I miss him soldering away at his workbench, even now when I smell solder I think of him. So being a ham was a real easy fit for me.

I'm a very casual operator and I do my share of DX'ing some contesting and plenty of ragchewing. My station now consist of a Kenwood TS-950SDX it replaced my Kenwood TS-940SAT that I ran for 14 years. Ten Tec Orion 565 AT, Kenwood TL-922 that has been modified by Don Kessler (KI6SZ) of Kessler Engineering, (back when he was still doing the mods himself), an ETO Alpha 76CA amp, Palstar HF-Auto Tuner, Palstar DL2K Dummy Load, Tokyo Hy-Power HL-1.5KFX solid state amp, Tokyo Hy-Power HC-1.5KAT Auto Tuner, Heil GM-4 mic into W2IHY EQplus and a few antennas, a Gap Challenger DX Vert, A Half-square for 17 meters. A 146' End fed wire antenna, in Inverted-L configuration, a 135' OCF dipole and a 160 meter Inverted-V. But I'm always putting some new wire up to try so you just never know what I might be on when we talk.

Some of my other interest includes, photography, Nikon D600, Nikon F100, Minolta Maxxum 7 and Maxxum 9. I shoot both film and digital. Saltwater reefkeeping, hunting, fishing and shooting sports and gardening (see note below). Also, I've been known to turn out some mighty fine Bar-B-Que, gotta love that "blue smoke". I'm an onboard traveling Chef for Amtrak National Railroad Corp.

Note... I enjoy growing and trying different types of fig trees. If you have a family heirloom fig tree growing or access to one. Or maybe just a favorite fig you like growing yourself. Let me know, If I don't have it, we can work something out. I would just need 1 or 2, 6 to 8 inch cuttings from the tree to try out here.

Future plans for the station includes, Installing a tower with a 2 element 5-band Lightning Bolt Quad or Hex Beam, A Hustler 6-BTV with 17, 12 and 60 meter add-ons kits, and also to start using the digital modes and getting back into working CW. Passed the 5 wpm to get my license, but never used code after that (sad but true). Also have a collection of Ten Tec Limited Edition keys/paddles. Added the ARRL Centennial Key, serial #0100 for 100 year Centennial (see pic).

I QSL direct 100%, also via ARRL LoTW, eQSL, and QRZ logbook. Send me a card and I will send you one back. Quick note, for the reminder of the year or until I run out, I will be sending out my new ARRL Centennial QSL card for cards requested. If you hear me on the bands by all means please give me a call and say hello. Also any SWL's that may hear me on the air, I will be glad to QSL.

I'd like to take this time to thank all veterans and our present military personnel who served and or still serving our country, Thank You

Also to all hams, SWL and others, please feel free to leave a note or just say hello here in my Web contact log on QRZ (see "Web Tab" link above). Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the visit and hope to work you on the bands.
