I'm happy seeing new callsigns on the waterfall, as well as the older ones.

To the hams that are new to the digital modes, I have a few tips for you. The first, since you downloaded your software and your radio is working with your computer, the next step before you start calling CQ, is to set up your macro's.

Your Hello Macro, your Station Macro, and your Goodby Macro.

If you wish to rag chew after your Hello Maco, you will find that your typing skills will improve over time.

The second would be, to enjoy the hobby. Just remember that your station is just as good as the ham that you have contacted.  Why do I say this?  Some of you are very thin skined, lolllllllllllll.

As for myself, I am having a great time with the digital modes. and see you on the waterfall.

I decided to save the trees, and I will only be doing LOTW and E-QSL (AG) & QRZ.COM from now on.

NOTE: IF you worked me from my mobile, and you use LOTW, please DO NOT enter my call as KF2GQ/M. I don't keep a seperate log for LOTW. I log the contacts in the same log as my fixed station log, and they go into LOTW as KF2GQ.

Do me a favor. When and if I am lucky enough to work your station while underway, please send me an e-mail to kf2gq@arrl.net with your callsign, the frequency, the date, and the time in UTC. As you can understand I cannot write anything down while underway.

See the photo of my mobile down below. The mount is a Breedlove ballmount made especally for the screwdriver antenna. Every opening has a bonding strap, even the exhaust pipe has one to the body of my Jeep. The rig in my Jeep is a Kenwood TS-480HX. The positive power lead is the only lead going to the battery, the negitive lead goes to one of the star bolt's holding down the rear seat. The reason for this power configuration is that you will not get any alternator whine.
