Hi - Thanks for checking my callsign on QRZ.com!

I like to work HF with foreign countries, and have over 200 countries confirmed as of today.  The HF station has a FlexRadio 6500 and an ICOM 7100 running 500W into a Hexbeam antenna at 65' asl.  I also have a 40 meter dipole, an R9 vertical, and an AH-4 tuner connected to a 500 foot long wire that I can select for HF.  It's really fun to switch back and forth and compare the antennas.

My biggest radio interest is VHF/UHF/Microwave operating - both from home, and also roving with my good friend K8DOG. Here I mainly use a Kenwood TS-2000X for 6m, 2m, 432MHz, and 1.2GHz. Three AM-6154/55 amps puts out 350W on 2m, 220, and 432.  A DEMI transverter covers 220MHz, and uses the HF output of the TS-2000X as it's IF.  Another DEMI transverter covers 902MHz, and I use a Yaesu FT-817 as it's IF.   At home, I have antennas for the lower 4 bands that are mounted on my smaller tower, which I put up in 2010.  It has a Glen Martin Hazer on it, and it's located in our NW pasture.  The elevation here is about 800' asl, so it gets out fairly well.

When I rove, I add more microwave bands for 2.3GHz, 3.4GHz, 5.7GHz, and 10GHz.  All those are DEMI transverters as well, with the 817 as the IF radio.  I enjoy roving, and have had a lot of fun trying to keep all the gear running.

Thanks for checking my bio, and if you have any questions, please feel free to email me at the address given.
