Hello Fellow Hampsters. I live on the 4th floor of a central London apartment which means antenna solutions are difficult, so anyone with limited space might want to note my solutions. Fortunately, I have a balcony so at least have some outside space which I can utilise for my antenna farm. What you can see in my antenna photo is an MFJ 1622 multiband apartment antenna attached to the balcony rail at an angle of 45 degrees always set to 40 meters, an MFJ Hi Q Loop which covers 10, 12, 15, 17, 20 and 30 meters, a Watson 2M/70CM Dual Banda, an Innovantenna LFA-Q Super-Gainer Quad Yagi for 2 meter SSB and a dipole for 6M.

For 80M I have justed setup a Watson Muli-Ranger which clips into the white plastic pipe mounted to the balcony rail (see photo) with a long counterpoise wire running on the floor finally attaching to the metal balcony rail itself. Its working brilliantly. This small 2M whip antenna has so far allowed me to QSO on FT8 throughout most of Europe and I have also been picked up in the USA proving its not just about size!!

Most of my voice work is 2M/70CM with HF being used mosstly for digital modes including Morse, FT8, JT65, JT9, PSK31 and PSK63. My rig is a Kenwood TS-2000.

If you have limited space and want to discuss my set up then please feel free to email me at m6efocallsign@gmail.com.

You might also hear me operating weekly from the bridge wireless office of Imperial War Museum ship HMS Belfast (GB2RN) moored on the River Thames and I am currently also tyring to get a radio club runing with The Chelsea Pensioners at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London.

I Look forward to meeting you on air soon regards and V73 de Mike.
