First licensed in 1961 as KN5JBW. Former calls include WB5LSU/CE3, WB5LSU/TI2, PT2ZDN,AA5NU/YV5, DA1DE, LU2ELY and N4JZB. I worked 35 years for the federal government and was a professor at the University of Oklahoma for 12 years. I am now retired.
I am presently active on HF CW, usually QRP, and always with modest antennas. Enjoy DXing and casual contesting. I recently starting working JT65/JT9 and am working towards WAS on those modes.
On VHF and UHF my main interests are in DStar and APRS. I operate both fixed and mobile.
My "main" station is an Icom 7300 feeding an end fed long wire antenna or a dipole.
My QRP station is based on the KX3 but I also have an FT817 and KX2 for portable use along with a few other very small rigs.
