Hi

this is OM4AIK so welcome to my QRZ.com profile. My name is Igor and I live in a small villlage called Omsenie which is situated 5km east from small spa town Trencianske Teplice and 15km east-north-east from district city Trencin. My QTH is situated on the west part of Slovakia and 120km north-east from the capital city Bratislava.

I am electrotechnic engineer and I work in slovak electrotechnic company in service department.

I like hiking, nature, electrotechnic constructing, programming microcontrolers and of course HAM. I have HAM licence since August 2016. My QTH is situated between mountains so QSO´s are little bit difficult. I like mountains and tourist activity so sometimes you can hear me from summits with callsign OM4AIK/P.

My momentary equipment :

  • Yaesu FT1000MP for HF bands (my favourite bands and radio)
  • Yaesu FT736R for VHF/UHF and SAT
  • Yaesu FT897 for VHF/UHF or portable
  • Yaesu MD-200 - Desktop mike (primary used with FT1000MP)
  • Wouxun KG UVD1P for outdoor walking

... and some other handheld radios.

Low HF band antenna is end-fed 40m wire with LC impedance matching unit designed for 80m ssb band.

For 15m and 10m band I use matched vertical antenna AXA101 (it was in 90´s produced in Slovakia like clone of American Penetrator 5/8 vertical with 4 x 1/4 radials originaly for CB band). To matching it for 15m and 10m bands I build homemade LC matching unit situated in bottom part of this vertical. LC Matching unit is switched remotely to 15m or 10m from my hamshack (the group of relays switching group of LC circuit and match impedance to 50 ohms to minimize SWR on feed line).

VHF/UHF antenna for vertical polarisation is Diamond X510N

VHF antenna for horizontal polarisation is 10 el. Yagi Diamond A144S10R mounted on small Antenna rotor AR-303

For SAT I use at this moment X510N and A144S10R. It is not ideal but maybe in the future ...

So thats all for this moment about me. I will be happy to meet you on frequency again so dont be afraid to call me if you hear me in the air.
