Above picture was actually taken around 1980 in South America as PY2ZDC on a 2050m mountain. Hand station a japanese military UHF 1 w Shinwa, with batteries refreshed by one of the very first foldable alu-framed solar panels fresh from AEG-Telefunken, Germany. Had fine simplex contacts with hams up in the skyscrapers in Sao Paulo city some 150 km away using the rubberduck antenna.  Exciting sub-tropic climb by foot 600m up after leaving the car; and refreshing after the summer heat further down below.  Monte Verde, Minas Gerais, the closest village.

OZ1HHH is transmitting from the small town of Ringsted, - JO55VK -, right in the center of Zealand island (IOTA-EU-029) in the eastern part of Denmark. The capital Copenhagen being located on the east-north-eastern part of the same island, some 60 km away.

The main church of this small city, originally of wood and stones, was build at the end of the Viking Era in 1080. After it burned, it was rebuilt with large, red bricks in the year 1170. During centuries it was a burial place for Danish Kings, Queens and Nobles. Today, the church is also the center for a very large, bi-yearly Medieval celebration during late summer, embrazing hundreds of merchants, artesans, warriors, King and Queen and Noble-dressed-like people, all working and living their 1400-year-lives, with tents, huts, foods, drinks, music and cozy real-medieval atmosphere all around you. How about coming and taking part ?
