Then living in Somerville (Victoria) I first obtained a novice restricted call in March 1990 (VK3NIG) and then achieved my upgrade obtaining a combined call (VK3KSD) (Novice CW speed with Full-Call theory) in December that same year. In September 2007 I obtained the call VK3GY. The ex-owner of this call Gary (Now VK3ZP) was our neighbour for many years and Gary rekindled my interest in ham radio. So now having the call VK3GY has a sentimental aspect for me.

My interests started on the bands 80 &15mtrs and 2 & 6mtr SSB and I enjoyed the odd contact via Aircraft Enhancement on 2mtrs. I then changed interests to packet radio in 1992 running KSDBBS for 6 years. In 1998 I left the hobby to pursue other interests and returned to the hobby in March 2006.

Moved out to country Victoria West Gippland some years ago to get away from the hussell and bussell and to enjoying the country life.

Mainly operating as mobile these days, but do listen from time to time on DV-Dongle.
