Active with Sangamon Valley Radio Club in Springfield, Illinois. I enjoy many areas of amateur radio; particularly DX, contesting, a little qrp and a lot of kit building. When I learned about the BitX40 I had to have one. I have included a photo of it. The case is a Paw Patrol metal kids lunch box I bought for $5. Although a bit flimsy, it was easy to work with drills and a metal nibbler. In addition to the BitX 40 my kit radio lineup includes a Pixie 40 meter transceiver, Ten-Tec 1340 40 meter rig, and an Elecraft K-2 that seems to be constantly apart for upgrades. Other current projects include a home brew Universal high voltage power supply that should be able to power 1 and 2 tube transmitters such as 12AX7, 6L6, and other 1950s era "Novice" transmitters that I occasionally mess with, Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects for audio and ham radio, a homebrewed rigid 6-meter dipole made to mount to my tower, and equiping my pontoon boat with an HF antenna and tuner so I can operate from the water.
