Having just moved from a small city lot to a new home on 5 acres of land in December 2013 I am slowly getting the station and antennas set up as time permits. With a newly constructed home time is a very short commodity.

Currently the antenna system consist of a U.S. Tower HDX 555 55 foot tower with a Mosley Pro 67B-3 beam at 58 feet for 40 through 10 meters. I also have a 67 foot vertical antenna tuned at the base for 30, 40 and 80 meters in the field.

The station consists of some old and new transceivers however the rig I use most is the Flex 6700 or the Yaesu FTDX-5000 driving an Ameritron AL-1500 amplifier.  I also have a Yaesu 950 I use as a backup, digital and for portable operations.  I have some legacy equipment I like to use on occasion which consists of a Henry RadioTempo 2020 driving a Swan Mark II with a pair of 3-500Z which I have had for approximately 45 plus years and still going strong.

At some time in the future I would like to add some more vintage equipment like Drake and Swan which were big when I first got into amateur radio in 1966.

I was first licensed as WB6VXT in 1966. I have always loved radio and got my commerical phone license in 1973 and was chief engineer for KRNO-FM, KWNZ-FM and KCBN-AM in Reno Nevada.

I enjoy collecting and restoring antique radios as well as amateur radio.
