Hamming since 1969.

Pretty much CW only.

I run either a TS-440S or a TS-830S into an 80 meter doublet at 40' fed with 450 Ohm window line.

I don't use a 'tuner' per se, but rather a bunch of relays that switch lengths of feedline in or out in order to achieve a match... Linear transformers if you want to call them that.

Here are the relays and the lengths of feedline in the garage attic.  These 10 relays select lengths of 1, 2, 4, 8, or 16 feet in binary fashion for selectable addition of 0 - 31 feet of feedline added:

I switch these with a 16 position selector switch with a whole bunch of diodes (and one toggle switch for the 16' loop) to select the increments.

For more info, see W5DXP.COM on the page for his "No Tuner" all band antenna.

This thing works great!
