I currently have a modest little setup with a Kenwood TS-480HX into a Carolina Windom with an LDG AT-600Pro auto-tuner (getting lazy - like just pushing a button). For CW, I have replaced my old Heathkit keyer that I built many years ago as a kid Novice with a K1EL Winkeyer USB and a Black Widow paddle. On phone I use a Heil GM-5 on a PL-2T boom. I also have a SignaLink USB interface for the digital modes, and I must say I'm having a lot of fun with that. On 2m/70cm I use an Icom IC-207H into a Jetstream JTB2B Vertical.
I mostly like to rag-chew on 75/80 meters phone and CW, and I enjoy chasing a little DX on occasion. I've also been playing around with the digital modes, especially BPSK-31, and I find that to be a lot of fun. I run all of that along with rig control with the Ham Radio Deluxe suite, including DM-780 on an AMD Phenom Quad-core running Win 8/64 . The SL is extremely easy to set up and use - lot of bang for the buck! Hope to see you on the bands (or the waterfall) sometime soon!
Lastly, the final honor of a QSO is a QSL. I am now working on DXCC endorsements, plus I just enjoy exchanging them. However, due to low return rate, I now only answer QSL's rather than soliciting them, unless you are a new country for me. If you want a QSL, send a QSL, either direct or via Bureau, and I will respond in kind, no SASE/IRC's required, although they are appreciated. Otherwise, LoTW is preferred. I do use eQSL.cc (AG), but I can't use that toward any of the ARRL awards. eQSL uploads are done automatically after each QSO, and I upload to LoTW generally at the end of the day when I go QRT.
