The Canadian Goverment calls me "Robert" and my friends call me "Bob"

I am not a serious DX'er... But I do enjoy the thrill of having a new one confirm on LoTW...

I am not a "Rag Chewer"...  But if you meet me on the air and you want to chat.... RVs, Camping, Portable Operating, Casual DXPeditions... all would be good topics... along with some others... Please NO political, NO Religion... Try and keep it Ham Related

I live in an area where I am allowed antennas but they should be stealthy to keep my landlord happy...

So if its 50w with the FT 450 or 5w with the FT817 its still the same wire hidden in my maple tree so .... no beams, no towers , no shiny verticals..... only a wire running as an end fed inverted Vee (in the tree) with a few radials attached to the inside of my wooden fence that encloses my small back yard.  Until Liz and I retire its the best its gonna get...

But it does work as this is the only place I have lived since getting my ticket. My  DXCC and WAS (ph/cw and digital) says its working or at least the people I have contacted over the years had really good recievers.

Thanks for looking me up here at QRZ...

My QSL Policy (as of May 1st 2014)

***Logbook of the World Preferred

***EQSL (AG) Preferred

I also upload to QRZ.com and HRDLog.net

Save a Tree---> "LoTW or EQSL only please"!!!

SWL Reports welcome via EQSL

LoTW uploaded within 24 hours of the contact being made

My logs at EQSL and HRDLog are usually current (within a day or so) of the QSO being made.  Check the log at the bottom of this page to see if you are there yet

At home I am using a Yaesu FT 450 with a LDG AT 600 Pro Autotuner feeding an approx 50' long random wire over a tree banch at about 40'.  I also use a Winkeyer(CW) and a Signalink (digital modes) My software for now is HRD and DM780.  I also use WSJT for JT65 and FT8  The SignalLink and software seems to be functioning correctly according to my FT8Log.

In the camper I am using the same Yaesu 450  but with a SGC SG 237 Smart Tuner along with a S9 43 foot vertical antenna.  The camper has been winterised and now safely hibernating in Storage till we head out again in the spring time.  At this time I plan to operate SSB and PSK 31 (NUE PSK MODEM)from the camper.

These modes will allow me to ragchew with my friends back home while on the road this coming summer (2018)  Our travels this summer will be within Ontario for the most part so no rare or exotic locations expected in our travels

My portable station is still my Yaesu FT 817 along with a LDG QRP Auto tuner with either a Buddipole vertical or a Parr end fedz qrp 10- 20 and 40m antenna which seems to work great everywhere between 10m and 40m using the LDG Tuner.  I am able to operate Portable PSK 31 using my NUE PSK Modem

Look for me on the air usually mid week (Wed, Thurs and Fridays with the occasional weekend thrown in for good measure) once (if) I get everything configured.

Now active using FT8 also using JT65 and PSK31 with the occasional RTTY

Now according to my Log book I have worked 159 DXCCS

Which is not too shabby concidering I am using a simple end fed wire and everything fits within a 20 foot by 20 foot back yard

but my confirmed totals follow:

DXCC DX (Century Club)Totals

I really prefer LoTW and EQSL . If you reply via EQSL please also confirm by LoTW if you can... as I am working on several ARRL Awards right now and we know that LoTW (ARRL) does not accept EQSLs yet.

My station logs are uploaded to LoTW daily, EQSL and HRDLOG.net as the contacts are entered in my log and are uploaded when I remember to QRZ.com or every Monday am (whatever comes first)
