    Licensed in 1963 as WB6DQX (San Diego). Active during teenage years. Then got busy with many other things. Let license expire, got back on air as Advanced Class WB6RRV. Upgraded to Extra in about 1984. Been licensed as AA6IO since late 1980s. Am now 60 years old. Modest rig: IC-756 PRO and R-8 Cushcraft vertical (about 100 w). HF activity mostly on CW.  Now becoming quite active in new technology. Love D-STAR and will be spending time on that mode. Do quite a bit of traveling in Europe and Asia, and would love to use D-STAR in those areas as well.

    Married to Mary (N6FXG) for 33 years. One daughter Sarah (KI6BYZ). I graduated high school in San Diego (1967), graduated from UCLA in 1974 with BS in biochemistry. Graduate of Loyola Stritch School of Medicine (Chicago) in 1977. Met  my wife Mary there, who is also a physician.  Trained at Long Beach VA Hospital and UC Irvine for 5 years.

   I am board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology (diabetes). Now very active in medical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology translation from Japanese to English. Fluent in Japanese (passed level 1: highest level) of Japanese Language Proficiency Test several years ago. Been a student of the Japanese language for 30 years. Have been in Japan at least 15 times. Licensed as 7J1ATE for a couple of years in the 1990s. Now spend about 80% of my professional time in biomedical/patent translation as second career, after practicing medicine for 24 years full-time.

   Very active in Rotary International. Past president of Rotary Club of Cerritos. Active in student exchange programs between Japan and Los Angeles area. Also active on local school board subcommittee for strategic planning, and serve as executive vice president of a battered women’s shelter in Long Beach.

    Would love to hear from some of my old ham friends back in the DQX San Diego days.
