Hi

I was first licensed in 1980 as G8WPD while living in Buxton in the Peak District and enjoyed many years working DX on 2mtrs and 70cms. Following the morse test I became G0GXT and used cw to further my VHF Dxing.

With my career I moved to the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, planted a Versatower and took to Dxing on the LF bands using vertical and loop antennas.

In 2013 I moved to my present location in the beautiful Shrewsbury countryside, planted another Versatower, and off we go again.

My main interest is 144mhz DX working and hope to do well from this location. At 600ft asl and a reasonable takeoff south, through east to the northwest, I am hoping to catch some good dx on all modes of propogation. I am also looking forward for some good dx contacts on Meteor Scatter and try my hand at EME, now more computer software is available such as WSJT etc..to help.

To this end I have totally upgraded the 144mhz station for low signal working. With great help from Justin, G0KSC at Innovantennas, I have gone for 4 x 11 element LFA yagis and a SSB MHP200 masthead preamp.

The HF side of things at the moment are restricted to a 270ft Delta Loop antenna fed with 450 ohm ribbon and a 7Mhz  vertical with radials. I do have a Crushcraft X7 yagi in the garage waiting to be put together.
