Paddles - Begali "Leonessa" on the TS590SG. and a "Sculpture" on the IC 7300 for CW.  "Hamgadgets Ultra Pico" Keyers and G4ZLP CW interface (WinKey).

Only QRV again since 10th January 2016  after a 30 year break from amateur radio! First licensed in early seventies as G8FAG then passed the morse test and became G4BSW after brilliant morse tuition fom Ivan Eamus G3KLT.

Former Marine Radio Officer 1974 - 1991. Always loved CW. Check out my website on a very unusual little ship I served on during the Seventies http://nigelhadley.org.uk

A highlight! Monday 30th May 2016 worked G3XOP and his brother Bob G4MWJ on 40M SSB. Paul, G3XOP was the first EVER Amateur I ever heard on an old broadcast receiver in late 1960's on AM Top band 160m and what spawned my interest and everything that happened after! What an amazing QSO! What an amazing hobby!

Another highlight! Friday 8th July 2016. QSO with Ivan G3KLT who taught me morse in the late 1960's. Ivan found me through this QRZ page -Very much my "Elmer"! He still sends perfect CW on an old Vibroplex at the age of 81 and still very active in the hobby.

At last - Reunion with Ivan G3KLT (after not seeing him for 40+ years) in Rutland UK on 2nd October 2016. Apart from the white hair and beard he aint changed a bit!

G4BSW - Early seventies. Shack in the garden at Aylesbury!

My old Samson ETM3b squeeze keyer. Bought early seventies and accompanied me to sea
wherever I went. Used commercially until 1991. Still works!!

GPO Single current key. A design that dates back to 1830's. This specimen was found in cellar of an
old building in Dover many years ago. Refurbished. probably dates to around 1900. It originally had
a large circular bakelite disc beneath the knob which was unfortunately broken.

.

Bencher BY2 paddle. was my favourite until I came across Begal keys!
