Operation on 144/432 Is limited, from 090 to 120 degrees, due to on going TVI issues with 2 neighbours. I've voluntarily minimised operation to outside peak viewing hours. 432 still affected, see below. 144 appears to less affected.

Set up tests for 2 houses affected. Transmitted and NO TVI on 144 or 432????? Since then have done 5 x 2.5 hour evening contests on 144 and several evening activity sessions, with chat type QSOs, had no prblems. But still at odd times get TVI on 432.

Did the 144 Low Power on the 6th August 2016. At 1800z got a call to say I was causing TVI.  Which is strange as I'd not had problems for 5 months. However those 5 months had been quite wet and the following period dry. This could be a "rusty bolt" problem. Difficult to nail this.

Rather inactive since start of 2017. Lots of planned tower work and re-arrangements to combat any "rusty bolt" effect. Both cables for tower replaced so far. Should be completed after summer ES season now.

Currently active on:-

HF only RX atm.

6M 100W SSB/JT65/MSK144/FT8.

4M 10W SSB/JT65/MSK144/FT8 ATM.  Just got an IC-7300 so 50W on 4M very soon.

2M 50W SSB/JT65/FSK441.

70cms 50W SSB.

Thanks for stopping by and looking me up.

I'm known as Bob on the bands, and Robert if in trouble with the XYL, hi!

Born 1950, got into radio through a good friend, Ron G8FJG, in the 70's.

First licensed in March 1973 as a "B" class licensee (144 and higher). This was at my old QTH in Romford (JO01cn).

I used a single 14 ele Parabeam on 144 and a 88 ele Multibeam for 432 on a 40ft Versatower.

In 1985 we moved to the current location in Billericay (JO01fo), and I upgraded the antennas to:-

2x15 ele Cue Dee for 144, 2x21 ele Tonna for 432, and 3 ele Cushcraft for 50, have added 70Mhz, a HB9CV at 4m.

In October 2011 added a 28Mhz dipole at 3m to get on the band.

As of June 2012, the antennas have been replaced with a single ones.

A 24 ele on 432, 11 ele on 144 and a 6 ele on 50, all LFA designs by G0KSC.

As of 08/13 I now have a 4 ele LFA on 4m to replace the HB9CV. See pic's below.

On 432 and 144 the feeder is EcoFlex 15 to minimise losses, the other bands use good coax, but not low loss Ecoflex.

Main rig is a Yaesu FT-847 HF to UHF TCVR, this has an INRAD 2.1Khz filter installed, on 4M has a G4FUF pre-amp.

As of April 2016 the 144 & 432 stations are being re-vamped. I've split the TX & RX on the FT-847 and I am in the

process of constructing mast head pre-amps for both bands, complete with sequencers from W6PQL.

Antennas for 70cms,2m & 6m, all LFA's. 4 ele OWL for Summer ES season

My main interests are DXing and contesting on VHF/UHF. See table below.

These have all been achieved with modest equipment using SSB only. I'm just starting to get into digital modes WSJT & EME.

QRV 6M, 4M, 2M, & 70cms, SSB only, at present, some DIGITAL capability at lower powerS. Recently QRV 6M JT65A, MSK144 & FT8.

Using a 1 Metre wire antenna in the shack for monitoring FT8 on HF. Absolutely amazing what is being decoded. Plans for some sort of  transmitting wire antenna for JT65/FT8 in 2018.

QSL info as normal below

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ QSL INFO +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Joined OQRS 22/10/2013     ALL LOGS UPLOADED - see panel below to see if you are in the log.

QSL via Bureau (primary) or Direct (secondary).

Please NO eQSL (I've unsubscribed as of 22/07/2011)because of the many many duplicates in the inbox,

and it does not qualify for RSGB awards even with the AG status, sorry. I would prefer your card if possible.

I will QSL 1st QSO for any band/mode/location, NOT FOR ANY SUBSEQUENT CARDS.

Please our friends in DL/ON/PA do not QSL every contact you have with me, one card per band is fine, thanks.

Please check your outgoing cards for dupes, I'm getting dupes from those using PC programs to do their cards.

It wastes yours and my time and money. Thanks.

Any cards sent by above two methods will be replied to asap.

Around 2002-3 a lot of my cards (both incoming & outgoing) were lost due to problems with the sub-bureau for G8 calls.

If you need a card for that period please send another card, and I will provide a QSL.

If you have sent card(s) and had no reply, please email me at above address and I'll make sure a card goes out to you.

The bureau can take a long time, and I can get cards with "pse QSL" on them for which I have sent a card out already.

If in doubt please email. Thanks.

Please respect the band plans. Specially 6M 50.100 to 50.130 these frequencies are for INTERCONTINENTAL QSOs ONLY.

NO same Continent QSOs here please, NO EU-EU, there is plenty of room in the band.

The "NEW Bandplan" is 4 years old now, check it out and see where you should be operating. MS is now 50.320.

ALL Digimodes should be above 50.300, there's 100KHz of empty band. We're squeezed into one slot at 50.276, that's not good.

Please also use your correct timeslot for VHF. If beaming WEST use EVEN t/s, if beaming EAST use ODD t/s. This reduces mutual interference. Do not use practices used on HF, as interference there not so much a problem due to ground wave.
