I became a ham in March 2010. I enjoy communicating on 40m - 6m, DSTAR and C4FM Fusion at the local repeater pair.
I am currently using a ICOM (It Can Only Mean)-7410 Transmitter in the shack (my situation room). I have added PR-781 microphone (contesting I use ProSet elite element 6 head phone) to help with the audio. The antenna I use for 40m, 17m, 15m, 12m is a zerofive verticle antenna ground mounted 20 m is a 3 element Yagi manufactured by HiGain and 10m I use a 3 element Maco103C.
Amplification of my RF produced by Ameritron AL-82, HENRY 2KD.
The Mobile: Its up and transmitting. It seems as though this combination is working well also. My equipment consist of the mobile (Ford F-150) IC (It Can Only Mean)-7000, 2 band eq (W2IHY) with the stock mike, RG 213/U coax, Ameritron ALS 500MR, Hustler resonators antenna's 80 - 10 m and a diamond SX-100 meter to measure the output, I look forward in making contact with you in the near future.
Mobile 2 has been put together, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has the following equipment: IC-7100,Tokyo 450B, Hi Sierra Screw driver antenna, AWM-35H to measure the output and SWR along with Ameritron SDC-102 10 Memory Screwdriver Ant Contoller Since swapping out the FT-857D with the 71hundred transceiver I enjoy the DSTAR mode. I can be found on any one of the Reflectors' from time to time.
Pedesterian mobile: you where hear me from time to time when I am walking around town or on a nature trail just enjoying the sobering feeling of nature. My working condition is an IC-718, 12v 20Ah battery attached to an ALICE (All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment) pack frame and a tarheel II screwdriver antenna.
My final on the pedesterian mobile. It works great. I have to get use to working with 100 watts or less and low antenna height. Other than that I am motivated to learn this type of operations and looking forward to making a contact with you. You may have too listen a little closer to the speaker and if you hear something faint, out at a distance, its probably me. hihi
