First licensed in November 1979, with the callsign of N0BIW which I held until November 1997. Interests include Contests, DXing, and building repeaters in the 440Mhz and 900Mhz bands. I was employed by the Board of Public Utilities in Kansas City, Kansas from 1980 to 2007. Presently I am employed by Black And Veatch Construction Inc as a Field Test Technician/Construction Manager (as needed). I am one of the founders of the Backyard Repeater Group, and we put on the 1st D-Star system here in the KC area. Presently we are building and developing use of the 900 Mhz band here in KC. All of our repeaters utilize the AllStar Asterisk (app_rpt) controllers. June 2016 Update:

The BYRG has dove into DMR heavily. We have one machine on in Mission, Ks and another in Peculiar, Mo  on the BrandMeister Network, and have plans for a few more covering the KC Metro. Also still developing repeaters on 927Mhz. And will be doing DMR on there also. Our analog rptrs still run AllStar for controllers.
