Received my amateur license in 1985. For the most part I am only interested in HF although  I do have a 2 meter rig (cb for hams). 80% of my operating is on 75 and 160.

The Shack is currently under the knife.

  • 125' "EFHW" with 55:1 UNUN relay remotely switchable to inverted L for 160.
  • SteppIR BigIR with 80 meter coil. 66 radials of which 60 are sixty foot long. DX Engineering radial plate
  • Array Solutions OCF dipole.



  • Palstar DL2k Dummy Load/watt meter.
  • RF Ground system with Georgia Copper bus bar on desk and DX Engineering Copper Ground bus outside with Alpha Delta surge protectors.All equipment RF grounded with copper braided strap.
  • Balun Designs CMC chokes
  • Raccoon Engineering custom patch panel for equipment.
  • Array Solutions 8 pack antenna controller (inside version)

Have a little over three acres with trees to hang antennas from. Currently running a 160 meter half wave fed with 450 ohm ladder line and 10-80 Array Solutions OCF dipole, 160 Inverted L and a SteppIR BigIR with sixty 60' Radials. Comet GP-1 for the 2 meter band.
