My 10-Meter Beacon is continuously operational, QRG at 28.228.80 MHz with 5 watts PEP. Please look for N6RVI/B here in QRZ.COM for more info.

I operate HF mobile especially in 40 meters on my 2010 Toyota Tacoma truck using Kenwood TS-480HX into a Hi-Q 4/80 RT screwdriver antenna. The power to the radio is maintained at least 12.8 VDC (even if the engine is turned OFF) by a 2 Farad capacitor hooked up to truck's battery.

My mobile APRS station is also "ON" most of the time while I am mobile using Yaesu FTM-400, track me at N6RVI-9 APRS mobile station .

At my hamshack, is a Yaesu FTDX-3000D with a Heil PR-781 microphone and inline to drive an Ameritron AL-80B amplifier into LDG AT-1000ProII Automatic antenna tuner as the primary set of my transceiver. My back-up transceiver is a Kenwood TS-590SG with a Vibroflex keyer and inline to drive a Kenwood TL-922A amplifier into an MFJ 998 Automatic antenna tuner. My ragchew transceiver is an ICOM IC-7000 which drives an AL-600S amplifier.

My HF antennas are as follows:

  • 6-Band HEXBEAM by K4KIO on an MA-40 US Tower
  • 40-Meter Rotatable dipole - D40 by Cushcraft
  • a modest sloper (1MHz to 54MHz) end-fed wire antenna; 72 feet in lenght commercially-made by ULTIMAX ANTENNA at an elevation of approximately 250 feet ASL
  • a ground mounted vertical Hustler 5BTV with about 30 radials buried underground
  • 80M/40M Double Bazooka, also commercially-made by ULTIMAX ANTENNA

For all-mode Satellite  operation: Kenwood TS-2000X using M2 LEO-PACK 2MCP8A/436CP16 combo and  M2 SATPACK #1 (EB144/EB432/Crossboom) Eggbeater.

For digital modes operation in HF bands, I am very active in PSK31 and JT65 using my Kenwood TS-590SG with a RIGblaster Advantage soundcard. I primarily use Digital Master 780 for my software. I also operate CW normally on 40-, 20- and 80-meter bands. Occasionally, I operate RTTY and SSTV, too.

For local repeater, I monitor and talk on N6JOJ repeater at 449.820 (-136.5Hz PL) and SANDRA repeater at 224.060 (-107.2Hz PL).

Call me in DMR at TG 31775 (PINOYHAMS) and TG 515250 (PINOYHAMS50); on D-STAR at REF 1C

I custom built my computer, Intel® Core™ i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40 GHz 3.40 GHz with 4GB Ram operating on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit; all interfaced to the radios and these accessories.

I have my APRS station (VHF digital mode) at home - N6RVI which serves as a digipeater and internet gate (iGate) for southwestern section of the US continent.

I use the N1MM logging softwares for contesting and Ham Radio Deluxe Logbook for my primary logging programs. I QSL 100% using LOTW, eQSL [AG] (I upload my QSOs every Saturdays at 0500 UTC) or QRZ.COM - whatever your pleasure, I always QSL. For the traditional QSL cards, please send direct with SAE - no IRC required. My logs can be seen online via HRDLOG.net.
