Set Yaesu FT-897D

TGM MQ-36SR for 6m to 20m at a height  of around 6m above ground level.

Outdoor 1/2 wave wire dipole (home brew) for 80m (also works for 30m)

Indoor 1/2 wave wire dipole (home brew under my roof in the shack) for 40m

Improving step by step, now with rotor and 'ugly' balun (May 2015).

Still only 6m of the ground.

The antenna (Mar-2015) is about 6m of the ground. Not the final destination but better than the 1.5m it had before.

My then (Feb-2015) new antenna MQ-36SR Just assembled, 1.5m above the ground.

Holiday in Florida May 2015. One of the trips was visiting Kennedy Space Centre.

One of my first radio shacks

One of my other hobbies is helping to build a float for the local parade, an official Dutch National

Cultural Heritage. The figures are modelled using steel and paper. The colours are brought on

with 150.000+ dahlia flowers per float, all manually applied. The build starts every year new

around May/June for the parade on the  second sunday of September.

In the image here under the float from 2017 is shown. It is the dream of many children to build a

tree house high in a tree. To have a house of their own. We build this dream with three tree houses.

8.5m high, 4m wide and 18m long. The colour is brought on by 170.000 dahlia's, all manually

applied by about 80 people in the cause of  3 days of 14 hour work per person a day.

The boat below is the 2016 float. Around 140.000 dahlia flowers were applied to coulour it. It depicts a boat in dry dock some where early 17th century. Workers from the wharf are repairing the boat when the scaffolding brakes down and the boat slides down. The workers have to run for their lifes. After the fall the workers hoist the boat back in place and continue repairs and then the scaffolding ... and so on during the full lenght of the parade. Watch it on YouTube

Below is the 2014 float, a shooter in fair ground shooting gallery. l x w x h is 18 x 4.5 x 8m.

(not me in the picture, not that grey yet hi)

In the pictures below the 2015 float. Five puppy dogs that are the magnified

puppy figurines with the nodding heads one often sees on car dash boards.

The heads from these dogs actually nod as well.

Dimensions about 20m long, 4.5m wide and a bit over 8m high. With over 160,000

dahlia flowers applied.
