Operation "ICE CREAM"  - June 2016

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since December 2015 I am retired telecoms engineer.

HAM STORY AND PICTURES:

I am rebuilding my small antenna system:

First antenna installed 28th April 2013.

Up it goes 5 el 6 meters home-made Yagi, design by DK7ZB. Antenna in that moment is 14 meters high.

Building second antenna (home-made rotary dipole for 30 meters).

Ready on the tower same evening, just 1 meter below 6 meters yagi.

2 el beam for 17 and 12 meters on the ground ready for final check.

Antenna is home made, design by DK7ZB.

2 el for 17 and 12 meters on the tower!

I don't write QSL cards for sending via QSL BUREAUS. Some people may find me lazy. That is possible, but I think sending tones of paper around the world has environmental impact.

~ Franklin Roosevelt, former President of the US

Our modern industrial economy takes a mountain covered with trees, lakes, running streams and transforms it into a mountain of junk, garbage, slime pits, and debris.

~ Bernard DeVoto, historian and author

We say we love flowers, yet we pluck them. We say we love trees, yet we cut them down. And people still wonder why some are afraid when told they are loved.

I'll be happy if I save 10 trees in my life. I am definitely teaching my successors same kind of thinking.

Our technology is here to be used for QSO confirmation. So I will use LOTW and e-QSL in the future.

If somebody really need paper QSL card, I will send my QSL back, if I receive SAE and 1 IRC.

I only use up to 25 W in digi modes (JT65A, JT9...) and never more than 5 W in WSPR.

From 12. 11. 2009 updating all contacts to LoTW and eQSL. (contacts after 1. 1. 1992)

If you send QSLs direct, please use my home address.

Antennas are always on construction, but in that moment I use:

On the same tower:

X-7 from Cushcraft for 20, 15 and 10 meters; antenna is cca. 13 meters high.

2 el home made yagi for 17 and 12 meters; Antenna is cca. 14 meters high. 90 degres out of X-7 direction.

Rotary home made dipole for 30 meters; Antenna is cca. 15 meters high.

Home made 5 el yagi for 6 meters; Antenna is cca. 16 meters high.

Inverted V for 40 and 80 meters. Apex 12 meters high. Keeper antenna.  Good for EU.

New tower is suporting 1 element loop for 80 meters and inverted L for 160 meters. Apex for both antennas

is cca. 17 meters high.  Loop is corner feed with home made 1:4 balun on two AMIDON T400-2 cores.
