My name is Teddy Edwards. I was born and live in the beautiful island of Anguilla known as Tranquility Wrapped in Blue because of its beautiful turquoise waters, its loving people and its crime free environment. My QTH here is at the highest point on the island which is called Crocus Hill. From this point I can see almost around the island.
The island is 35 square miles with a population of approximately 15,000 inhabitants. It is flat, coral, limestone and rises to an elevation of about 213 feet above sea level. It is about 10 miles to the North of St. Maarten which is closest to it. Coordinates are 18 degrees north and 63 degrees west. Anguilla was called Malliouhana by the Caribs and some once referred to it as eel or snake island because of its shape. The island is approximately 16 miles long and 2.25 miles at its widest point. In the early days Anguilla was known for its salt, which at that time was the main industry. This was mined at Sandy Ground and also at West End salt ponds. The salt was exported to places like Trinidad and other Caribbean Islands. The island is also known for its corn and peas. Today tourism is the main industry followed by fishing and off shore financial services. The island boasts of a number of top class restaurants and hotels second to none and of course some of the best beaches around.
To get here you can travel via San Juan and then use Anguilla Air Express or Sea Borne Airlines or Trade Winds Air to the island or fly into St. Maarten and use the ferry service from either Marigot or Philipsburg to the Blowing Point Port. You can also fly into St. Thomas (USVI) or Antigua and use LIAT or Sunshine Air to the island.
The island is a British Colony. United States Dollars are accepted. The Eastern Caribbean Dollar which is tied to the US Dollar at 2.68 is the legal tender.
I always had a passion for Amateur Radio and realised that dream in late 2010. My callsign is VP2ETE. E-Mail is teddy.edwards52@gmail.com.I am looking forward to collecting and sending QSL cards through my QSL Manager W3HNK.
I must say that my elmer VP2EKG assisted me quite a bit in realizing this dream and ensuring that I get on the air. I must say a special thanks to him and the others. Having completed the phone part I am now involved with PSK 31 and I must say special thanks to W8FCD who assisted me to realise yet another dream. I am using for PSK 31 Tigertronics and the TS 480 SAT. I have interest in learning RTTY and this would be sometime very soon.
My shack equipment is as follows: FT 950, FT 100 D which I use on the outside,FT 817, Icom V 8000 for 2 meters and a Kenwood TS 480 SAT .My antenna network comprises of a Broad Band Hex beam( This was damaged by Hurricane Gonzalo but will be repaired and put back up) for 20 meters through10 meters, an alpha delta lb plus for 80 through 10 meters, a home brewed 3 element 12 meter beam,an ar-6 vertical and a 3 element home brew yagi for 6 meters, a Cush Craft 2 meter beam antenna, and a home brewed Off Centre Fed Dipole for 80/75 meters through 6 meters. My tuner is the  MFJ 989 C. I am presently running barefoot. Will look for an amplifier some time in the future.
I spent most of my years working first with the Government as a Senior Superintendent in the Water Department and later joined Aqua Design a desalination company as their Regional Manager in the Caribbean prior to being laid off.
My other hobbies are fishing and cooking. I also have a passion for radio. I was a part time DJ at a local radio station here. I love music especially nostalgia music
