Thank you for Visiting! Please sign my Web Contact Log if you get a chance, love to see who is visiting. I will do the same!

For QSL: LOTW (Preference), eQSL (Gold Member - AG),  ClubLog OQRS request - secure.clublog.org/logsearch/W6AER, QRZ and HRDlog is fine as well. I also use the ARRL 6th Distric Bureau (send out about twice a year) or Direct Mail is fine as in Actual Cards. I still love a physical card if you have one, including domestic ones! NO S.A.S.E. / NO Stamp required for either domestic OR International but is appreciated, I respond 100%. Also upload to ClubLog, QRZ and LOTW when I get a chance or about once a week. The eQSL & HRDlog are generated automatically when I log a contact.

SWL Reception : Reports are always welcome.

When conditions allow, I work pretty much every mode & band on HF but tend to be more on 20 & 40m lately due to declining conditions. In addition to phone of course, CW, Digital modes, especially JT65/JT9, FT8, PSK (Focus on 63 and 125 now) and some SSTV or RTTY when in the mood or if there is contest. If it's a rare DX I am there as that is my main interest.

Yes, you may hear me speaking other languages on the air, people especially get surprised when I carry on with them fluently in Hungarian. Beszélek Magyarul! My German, Spanish and Russian are not as good anymore due to lack of practice but good enough for a DX exchange. I sometimes operate remotely into my OWN station (W6 land, Pictured) but mainly work digital modes and CW only when using remote. I am also trying to better my CW as time allows.

I am Honored to be the Vice President for 2017-18 of the Norhern California DX Club (Board of Directors 2016-17) as well as on the board of directors for the San Francisco Radio Club for 2016,17 & 18.

Please visit my ham radio website for more info, pictures &videos: www.w6aer.com (New window will open so you won't lose your place here)

ARRL VEI am an Extra Class ARRL VE (Volunteer Examiner)  as well as a W5YI VE and am available in the San Francisco Bay Area to assist with testing if needed. Currently working with the San Francisco Radio Club (W6PW) VE team and you can find future testing dates at: http://www.sfarc.org/ve-examinations.html but please feel free to contact me, I would be more then happy to help out elsewhere as well.

Also monitor local repeaters (W6PW & WA6TOW), but I listen on VHF more then I talk. Beeing near the coast I also monitor the marine emergency frequencies (just in case) as well as other local emergency and other frequencies of interest.

Main HF Antennas

I have more antennas then trees... I actually REALLY do. First photo is a Hexbeam (6m-20m), Butternut HF9V (left) with 160m add-on and adding lots of long radials, 100+ now!  2m/440 & 220 Verticals and scanner antenna (2nd photo), 2m/440 Satellite with preamps and finally the view from my Hexbeam. And no, the hexbeam is not tilted, the fence is sloping due to my location so it's an optical illusion. Recently also added an AOR LA800 Magnetic Wideband Loop to help reduce local noise on the low bands, best purchase ever! I can hear things I never heard before now. Some antennas not pictured yet, but I will work on it, there might be more info on my website as I update these pages at different times.

On VHF/UHF I can work 2m (144), 1.25m (220), 70cm (440). If interested in an arranged QSO, especially an exotic mode, Satellite or lesser used band, please contact me via email. I am always up for experimenting if time allows. Also looking to get more active on 33cm (900Mhz) and get back on 23cm (1.2Ghz) sooner or later as well as plans to play around with 2.4Ghz & 10Ghz but this may have to wait a bit.
