First licensed in in 1965 as WN2VJL and WA2VJL (Technician), thanks to my mentor: Ed Wilcox (SK) K2TOV and encouragement from W2RUF Clara Reager (SK).    Upgraded to General in 1966 (in front of "Uncle Charlie"), Advance Class in 1980 and finally to Extra in 1981, both under "Uncle Charlie". Original QTH, Buffalo, NY attended Hutch Tech H.S. and a member of the "TECH HAMS" WA2WVF (see photo below, any one recognize themselves in this picture?) Original station consisted of a Eico 720, Hammarlund HQ-110AC and a 40m dipole. When I became General, I built the EICO 753 Xceiver and upgraded to a 12AVQ Vertical. Present station consists of a Yaesu FTDX1200, ACOM 1000 Amplifier,  Yaesu FT991, Palstar HF Auto Tuner, LDG 600ProII and a Nye-Viking MB-V-A  Tuner. Yaesu FT8900R with a Diamond V2000A Tri Band Verticle, with  a Diawa  CN-801 meter. For SWL:  Hammarlund HQ180AC. Antennas include: AV620 Roof Mounted (6m - 20m),  Butternut HF2V with 160m Coil for 160-40m and a Butternut HF9V (6-80m). Backup: CHA-250B Vertical. For 6m, a Cruhcraft A50-5S, 5 ele. beam with a CDE Rotor. For 2m/440CW/SSB: Cushcraft A27010S, horizontally polarized. For Digital Modes, Yaesu SCU-17 Interface with Ham Radio Delux Software  and Winkey. Also an AEA Morse Machine Memory Keyer. Modes include: SSB , CW, RTTY and BPSK-31. VHF/UHF FM. QSL 100%,direct,sase, LOTW or via buro  and Logbook on QRZ.com

The highlight of my 52 yrs as a ham came on 5/19/2017, when , after 52 yrs, I had a qso with the man who sold me my first rig and receiver, Ray Grenier, K9KHW, formally of the original Amateur Electronic Supply!!
