Hello I go by Jim,I am a 47 years old and work as an Central office tech for Frontier. I have also worked as an EMT & Paramedic for 10 years in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area for Rural/Metro and AMR.

I have held two other calls in my 27 years of being a amatuer. My Novice call was KB5LUB and 28 days later when I upgraded to tech in Febuary of 1990 I was issued N5QHO. I kept this call for 10 years until I upgraded to amatuer extra and took a vanity call of WM5L. (I always wanted a 2x1)

I run a Icom IC-746PRO, Alpha 99 with a NA4RR Hexbeam @ 30' and Inverted Vs for the lower bands. For the VHF/UHF bands a Yaesu FT-847 and a Henry 2002 for VHF SSB. When Boy Scout Portable/Camping or on the Digital modes I run a Elecraft KX3. Lately I have found FT8 and MSK144 to be a blast with 10watts on 6m and 20m. I also run a APRS tracker with the call N5QHO-15 when on Boy Scout trips. I maintain a few APRS Digis and Igates in West texas.

I LOVE QSL CARDS. I QSL 100% if i recieve one direct, via the W5 QSL or OMISS bureau. I also use LOTW and eQSL.  Do not forget to do a good turn daily... Jim/WM5L ARRL & W5YI VE, AF&AM
