CX5CW Montevideo, Uruguay

QSL direct, LoTw, QRZ or bureau.

My name is Pedro and have been on Ham Radio since 1992 as CX1AAC in Montevideo, Uruguay. Call sign upgraded to Extra in 2010 and currently CX5CW.

Moved to New York in 2001 and since working for a telecomunication company.

My radio is a  ICOM IC-7800, SP34 speaker, Heil icm microphone and  SPE Expert 1K-FA amplifier.

US tower TX-472 MDP with 20ft mast and Yaesu G-2800DXA rotor and Green Heron rotor controller.

SteppIr DB18E on tower. Also 80m inverted Vee on tower and 160m inverted Vee hung by one of the tallest tree in my back yard. (600ft of buried LMR400 going to the woods)

For 40/80 RX  I have 3 bi-direccional 500ft beverage antennas directed to N-S, E-W and  NE-SW

8/2017- Recently started working FT8 digital mode. For this I am using Windows 10 PC, Kenwood TS-590SG transceive and DB18E SteppIr antenna.

80m rotable dipole antenna on top of steppIr antenna.

Icom IC-7800, SPE Expert 1K-FA amplifier, Steppitr SDA 100 controller, Power Master II meter, LDG DM-7800 Dual meter, Green Heron RT-21 and Yaesu G-2800 Rotor for SteppIr 18E and 80m rotable dipole.

Room behind radio desk with all antenna and radio connections. HI-Z 8 port remote beverage antenna switch, Ameritron  remote coax switch, DXE current chokes and Power Master II antenna couplers.

Old Us Tower TX-472  completely restored by me. Foundation, underground conduits and coax box also installed by me. 1 man operation!

Old electrical box (with DX seticker on it) turned into a coax box with Alphs Delta surge protectors. Ground system consists of  2x8 ft ground rods spaced 10ft apart conected to the tower and coax box.

SWL reports are welcome.

I am a supporter of the DX Code of Conduct:

I will listen, and listen, and then listen again before calling.

I will only call if I can copy the DX station properly.

I will not trust the DX cluster and will be sure of the DX station's call sign before calling.

I will not interfere with the DX station nor anyone calling and will never tune up on the DX frequency or in the QSX slot.

I will wait for the DX station to end a contact before I call.

I will always send my full call sign.

I will call and then listen for a reasonable interval. I will not call continuously.

I will not transmit when the DX operator calls another call sign, not mine.

I will not transmit when the DX operator queries a call sign not like mine.

I will not transmit when the DX station requests geographic areas other than mine.

When the DX operator calls me, I will not repeat my call sign unless I think he has copied it incorrectly.

I will be thankful if and when I do make a contact.

I will respect my fellow hams and conduct myself so as to earn their respect.
