My journey into the hobby began in 1975 when I was licensed as WD4OCO.
In 1999 when I upgraded to extra I got my current call W4OCO.
I have enjoyed the hobby very much and have made many friends over the years
You will catch me on 17 meters, around 18.140 most days. 17 meters is my favorite band. Nights occasonialy on CW on the low bands.
Thanks CWOPS Academy , and advisor Bill, KC4D! Much improvement seen in my CW skills due to his help. Enrolled in the Level 3 class in starting in September
I love to work chase DX ragchew with my friends on 17 meters.
I live 5 blocks from the oceanfront , its a Great DX location.
My station in Virginia Beach consists of a Flex 5000A, Yaesu FTdx-3000, THP 1.2Kfx Amp and LDG AT-1000Pro II Auto Tuner. I use an Electro-Voice RE27 microphone, paddle is a March R3A. Antennas are a K4KIO 6 Band Hex Beam @ 34 Feet, Carolina Windom at 60 feet and a 1/4 wave sloper for 160 meters.
The Flex 5000A is a new adventure for me, having always had knobs to play with. It's an awsome radio with one of the quitest receivers I have ever used.
I would like to thank everybody who has taken the time to check me out. I appreciate each and every QSO and look forward to our next contact.
All QSOs confrmed via LOTW (prefered) or eQSL.
Stay Safe & God Bless.
